Toots! Her
hair grows - her legs pose!

Tressy's little sister was
known as Toots in the UK, Cricket in the USA & Snouky in France.
Cricket & Toots have subtle differences in the facial features & Cricket
has smaller feet. I am not sure about Snouky as I have not seen one myself.
Like Tressy she had growing hair in a variety of colours, but she had legs that
held their position when bent.
Unlike the modern dolls with 'click' position legs, there was just a stiff wire
down the centre of the leg that would hold the shape when bent.
Many of the dolls that turn up today have a portion of this metal showing and
often the plastic cracks with age & use.
In actual fact Palitoy had a problem with the first batch of 'Toots' to come off
the production line as the legs did not 'Pose'.
All these dolls were replaced & I remember waiting an interminable time for
my Toots to get her bendy legs!

Toots was supplied in the
triangular box in the UK.
She was dressed in a white ballet Tutu with white pumps & a white ribbon in
her hair.
She had a stand but it was one her feet attached too not like the Tressy one
with a tall support wire.

PARTY TIME |
This is an outfit
called 'Party Time' & was available as a Budget fashion for Toots.
So
called because it was less expensive than the boxed outfits that usually contained
more
accessories, this smashing little set comes
with white pumps & a tiny Birthday card. |
